In my research, I have integrated analytical/computational models with controlled experiments using human participants in artificial networks and analysis of large-scale data from real-world net-works (e.g., social media). I use a unique iterative process to bridge between these levels of analysis that involves:
- Developing formal theoretical models based on realistic assumptions of individuals’ behavior in a controlled environment,
- Optimizing experimental design informed by theoretical/computational models.
- Testing the ecological validity of results at scale in real-world networks.
